Point Guard Paige in blue & gold
The Southern Hoiho are excited to announce the signing of point guard Paige Bradley for the 2023 Tauihi League season.
Hailing from America, Bradley played college basketball with the Denver Pioneers for the University of Denver.
Graduating in 2016, Bradley commenced her Pro basketball journey heading to Germany and spending time with the Pharmaserv Blue Dolphins Marburg and the QOOL Sharks Wuerzburg.
She also spent time with AB Contern in Luxembourg in 2022, where she hit an amazing game winner with a second remaining during her time in the competition.
Bradley most recently played in the Australian NBL1 competition, joining the Chargers for a second season where she finished with averages of 19.9 points and 5.6 assists.
Fresh off the completion of the NBL1 season, Bradley said everything fell into place.
“I had a friend who played there last year, and she had nothing but good things to say about New Zealand, the league and just the experience overall,” she said.
“It was very attractive to me, and I really just got lucky with her vouching for me and talking with coach Todd.”
Bradley said she is excited to see how the league differs from the other countries she’s played in.
“I'm excited about seeing a different league and figuring out the style of play and the physicality,” she said.
“I think it's different in every country I've played in, but just understanding how the game is in a different country and playing with new players is always unique and fun.”
Bradley is looking forward to being with the team and achieving something with them this season.
“I'm excited to get to know the girls and I love meeting new people,” she said.
“I am excited to see the country and mostly I'm really excited that I think we could be very successful.”
“I hope we make the finals, being on a successful team that has potential to make it to the end is really cool.”
